David Beckham has recently been named an ambassador to The King’s Foundation, a role that underscores his growing rapport with King Charles, highlighted by photographs taken at Highgrove, the King’s beloved estate. This new chapter in Beckham’s life comes amidst cooling relations with Prince Harry, described by former Sun royal correspondent Charles Rae as having “gone out of the window” as Beckham grows closer to Harry’s father.

After a private meeting with King Charles, Beckham was officially welcomed as a supporter of the King’s charity initiatives. Expressing his enthusiasm, Beckham said, “I’m excited to be working with the King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work. I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”

Rae elaborated on the shift in royal relationships, noting that the Beckhams had previously been close to all members of the royal family. However, tensions arose following allegations from Harry and Meghan against Victoria Beckham, which led to a defensive stance from David. Despite this, Beckham’s strong connections with King Charles, as well as with Prince William and Catherine, ensure his continued prominence within royal circles.

Amid these developments, Rae hinted at the potential for Beckham to be knighted, citing his significant contributions to football and his positive public persona, amplified by his appearance in a popular Netflix documentary about his family. Rae suggested that Beckham could be knighted as soon as the next birthday honours list is announced.

In his new role, Beckham recently participated in a carpentry session with students at the Snowdon School of Furniture, demonstrating his commitment to the foundation’s educational goals. The King’s Foundation, which operates from Dumfries House in East Ayrshire, manages Highgrove Gardens and offers various programs aimed at preserving heritage crafts, supporting sustainable agriculture, and revitalizing communities through urban planning and rural skills education. This appointment highlights Beckham’s ongoing dedication to philanthropic and educational causes, aligning his interests with the objectives of the King’s Foundation.
