Teen Mom star Amber Portwood’s fiancé, Gary Wayt, has been located after being reported missing. North Carolina police have confirmed that the case is now closed.
The investigation into the disappearance of Amber Portwood’s fiancé has concluded.
Less than a week after Gary Wayt was reported missing in North Carolina, the Bryson City Police Department announced that the 38-year-old “has been located.”
In a June 14 update on their previous missing person alert, authorities wrote on Facebook, “No further information available at this time. Case is closed.”
According to an incident report obtained by TMZ, Wayt was last seen at a Bryson City hotel where he and Portwood were staying before he went missing. It was the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star who reported her fiancé missing.
Wayt was eventually spotted in surveillance footage captured on June 9 in Oklahoma, over 900 miles away from where he was last seen, officials confirmed to US Daily News.
“This is a huge deal,” Portwood shared during a June 11 appearance on a YouTube live show with Elle Bee. “His parents, everybody is very worried. I’m worried.”
The MTV personality—who shares daughter Leah, 15, with ex Gary Shirley, and son James, 5, with ex Andrew Glennon—also addressed rumors about a disagreement she allegedly had with Wayt before his disappearance.
“There was not a big blowout fight,” she clarified. “He is a missing person right now. All the police officers, everybody is looking for him. I am praying for anybody that sees him.”
Breaking down in tears, the 34-year-old added, “This man asked me to be with him. This man then asked me to marry him. I have not touched this man in any horrible way. He does not touch me in any horrible way. We do not yell at each other. We have a wonderful relationship.”
